A ceasefire has been in place since 1956, and will hold until 1965, at which point conflict will resume with the participation of a fourth side, the Second Patriotic Army. It is one of the few proxy wars where all three blocs are engaged in war, as well as the Malagasy Rebellion and the Oil Crisis.
