Line 1:
La Violencia (In English: The Violence, and sometimes referred to as the Colombian Civil War) is a 3 way ongoing civil war between the Republic of Colombia fought between the central government, Radical Revolutionary Liberals, and Radical Fascist Conservatives. It began with the assassination of President Jorge Eliécer Gaitán in 1954. A ceasefire has been in place since 1956, and will hold until 1965, at which point conflict will resume with the participation of a fourth side, the Second Patriotic Army. It is one of the few proxy wars where all three blocs are engaged in war, as well as the Malagasy Rebellion and the Oil Crisis.
