In-Game Description[edit | edit source]

León is the most populous city of the state of Guanajuato. While not the state capital, the city holds the state's municipal seat. León was occupied by the French for three years and celebrated the visit from Maximilian I in 1846. Multiple people were wounded by government soldiers following the city's liberation. Almost a century later, a group of students were killed for protesting the election of Bonifacio Salinas. León is known as the "footwear capital of Mexico" as a majority of the country's shoes come from the city. Foreign investors have shown interest in the city's potential for industrial expansion, but only time will tell if the Pearl of the Baíjo will become known for more than leather.
