In-Game Description[edit | edit source]
The city of Fengtian, historically known as Shenyang, gained fame under the Manchu name Mukden, meaning "prosperity". As the centerpiece of Manchuria, Zhang Zuolin's Fengtian Clique rose to power in this city. Years later, in 1928, following the Grand Marshal's mysterious death, his son and heir Zhang Xueliang officially unified with Nanjing, terminating the Beiyang Government. But that is bygone history now. Allegedly, Zhang Xueliang's Fengtian Army sabotaged the South Manchuria Railway, and the Kwantung Army invaded Manchuria in retaliation thereafter. The reality could be different, perhaps, but the world could never know what really happened, as history is told by the victors. Under Manchukuo, Mukden thrived on the Fengtian Clique's legacy and remained a top industrial and commercial metropolis in Manchuria - a second Osaka for Japan. However, as you visit the luxurious shops and enjoy the fine cuisine, you hardly see any natives - the ones who should have the right to the city.
