Once a capital of all things cultured, Paris today stands as a shadow of its former self. The Haussmannian buildings frown at the daily sight of German soldiers, as Parisians try their best to live their lives in spite of all the hardships they have to endure. And yet, they live on, for better or for worse; for there is no alternative but to give in to despair, as the denizens of France know all too well.
