Originally upon its establishment the Central Siberian Republic controlled all of Central Siberia. However, war exhaustion fromm the bloody [[Siberian War]] with the [[Irkutsk]] regime in the 1950s catalysed the collapse of the Republic as disillusioned regions broke off, until only Tomsk remained.

''In the end, ironically, it was the Bolsheviks once more that rbought the Founders' dreams of democracy crashing down. Facing invasion from the east, several of the CSR's constituent cities revolted, and now the former bastion of liberty in Russia is ruled by despotic juntas, rampaging anarchists, and presressive bolsheviks. But not all hope is lost - the CSR's government, located in the city of Tomsk under a provisional government led by Boris Pasternak, has survived, and as the year 1962 dawns, the President prepares to restore full democracy to the Republic.''

The fall of the [[Soviet Union]] brought untold harships on the people of Russia. Yet in this darkest of hours, the embers of hope could not be crushed by [[Germany|German]] militarism.

Through all of this catastrophes and upheaval, the people in and around Tomsk maintained their loyalty to the central government. President Pasternak suspended elections after the fall of Krasnoyarsk and declared a provisional government to stabilize the failing Republic. Pasternak and his advisors worked tirelessly to stabilize the food situation and ensured that some semblance of normal life could return to the capital.

Even being diagonsed with cancer, this has not stopped President Pasternak from his herculean struggle to prevent the collapse of the Republic.

The Siberian Athens, blessed with schools, universities, and salons, shall rely upon its four greatest political associations in order to achieve its revival: the conservative [[Decembrists]], led by Russian medievalist [[Dmitry Likhachyov]]; the centralizing industralists of the [[Bastillards|Bastillard]] Salon and their leader, avant-garde poet [[Daniil Kharms]]; composer [[Dmitry Shostakovich]]'s utopian socialists of the [[Humanists|Humanist]] Soviety; and the liberal technocrats of [[Andrey Sakharov]]'s [[Modernists|Modernist]] Salon.
