The Communist Party of Kazakhstan (Kazakh: Қазақстан Коммунистік партиясы) is a Kazakh political party. Founded in 1936 as the Kazakhstan branch of the Communist Party of Soviet Union. With the fall of the Soviet Union and Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic achieving de facto independence, the Communist Party of Kazakhstan continued many of ideas of the Soviet Union, but for the benefit of the Kazakh people rather than their prior Russian overlords.
