National Democratic Party

The National Democratic Party (Spanish: Partido Democrata Nacional ) isa center-right political party from Argentina. The party was founded in 1931 and is considered to be the successor of the National Autonomist Party who ruled Argentina from 1874 to 1916. Originally named the Conservative Party it rebranded itself the National Democratic Party in 1935. The party in 1962 had somewhat been diminished from it domination in the 1930s, as the parties action during this period had alienated them from both the Peronist and the anti-Peronist. Not helping was that party expernice a major schism in 1956 when Pro-Peron members left to form the Popular Conservative Party.
