|While propaganda may state the contrary, Japan's primary legacy in Indonesia is not giving the nation independence, but the de facto two-party system created by it. The abnormality was not concocted out of kindness, but for stability, a desire to keep the Supereme Islamic Council Alive and to build a positive relationship between Sukarno and Hatta.
