How to use each parameter:

name = character's name portrait = character's portrait file name. the template automatically embeds the image
portraitsize = size of the portrait. defaults to 156px horizontal if left empty
portraitlabel = caption for the portrait
incumbenttitle = highest level incumbent title of the character
incumbentdate = date that the character began their incumbency toprole = the title of the top dog that the character is serving under (i.e. the president)
toproleholder = the guy who actually is the top dog precededby = the character's predecessor
succeededby = the character's successor (only use if there's only 1 successor)
title = title that the character has previously held
assumed = when they gained that title
left = when they lost it
toprole = title of the top dog they served under
toproleholder = name of the top dog they served under
precededby = their predecessor
succeededby = their successor
longname = the character's full name, not localized
birthdate = the character's date of birth
birthplace = the character's place of birth
deathdate = the character's date of death
deathplace = the character's place of death
age = the character's age (IF THEY ARE ALIVE AT GAME START)
deathage = the character's death age
nationality = the character's nationality
role = the character's role and potential roles in the mod
party = the character's party
otherparty = previous and potential party affiliations of the character
ideology = the character's ideology

tabber

the tabber is a substitute for the standard image parameters. it will only work if all the image parameters are empty and if tabberfile1 isnt. only use the tabber parameters if you know what youre doing. check the template source to better understand how it works

tabbertitle = title for the tabber tab
tabberfile = name of the file to display in the tabber. the template automatically embeds it
tabbercaption = caption for the displayed image
