As the Chinese Armies were routed in the mainland, and the Chinese United Front broke apart after the deaths of Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai-shek in Chongqing, Communist-led NRA units marched towards Indochina, finding safe refuge against the Japanese with fellow Communists.

These new Chinese comrades from the North would assist greatly with the underground battle against the Japanese and Collaborationists, allowing for the Capture of Lang Son against Japanese and Vietnamese Collaborationist troops. With such a proper foothold and territory under their control, the Viet Minh shall wait in the shadows, to liberate the entire Indochinese region.
