Location, description and Geography[edit | edit source]
Ankara is the second biggest city in Turkey and its capital. Located in the geographical region of Inner Anatolia, in the center of the nation, Ankara is the beating heart of the nation. Officially becoming the nations capital in 13rd of October, 1923 with the law passed by the Grand National Assembly. Ever since, the once calm and small town growed and evolved into the second largest city of the nation. Once the humble capital of a new republic, now the final resting of it's founder. The streets of the city and the halls of the parliament while looking different are all but the same in athmosphere. The legacy of the Grand Council of Kemalism and the 40 year rule of the CHP has made it's mark on the Republic, let alone it's capital.
In-Game Description[edit | edit source]
If Istanbul represents the imperial past of Turkey, Ankara represents its republican future. The Turkish capital is a city created from nothing but the histories of an old settlement called "Ancyra"; Atatürk chose it as a model city for its strategic location in the War of Independence and its distance from the old Ottoman values.
Ankara has seen Turkey grow past what once defined it, and is the locus of many of Turkey's glories and defeats. The beating heart of the Republic, it is the pride of its own citizens and those of the Turkish nation. Truly it is as the Ankara March puts it: 'Ankara, Ankara, beautiful Ankara; every unfortunate person wants to see you.'
