Martin Ludwig Bormann (born 17 June 1900) is the Deputy Fuhrer of the NSDAP and Potential Leader of the Greater Germanic Reich. Joining the party in 1927 he quickly rose the ranks to become one of Hitler's most trusted men in his circle. After the victory of the Reich in the Second World War and Economic Collapse, he would become the Leader of the Loyalist Faction within the conservative Loyalist faction within the NSDAP.
In-Game Description[edit | edit source]
The masses cheer Hitler, the army salutes Göring, and the intellectuals admire Speer's oppressive architecture. Yet how many Germans would recognise Parteiminister Martin Bormann, the little grey man lurking in the Führer's shadow?
Men of grand goals often boast humble beginnings. Born to a postman at the turn of the century, Martin Bormann lived through the First World War to become an estate manager of a farm. Violence was never far behind the young man. He was imprisoned for assisting the brutal murder of a school teacher, became a treasurer for the Freikorps, and leapt into the SA with thuggish vigor. An obsessive administrator with bureaucratic finesse, Bormann eventually joined Hitler's Inner Circle as the Chief of the Party Chancellery.
Over the last two decades, the Brown Eminence has weaved a web of deception, bribery, and blackmail, coalescing power around himself with appointments, promotions, and firings. He sits at the heart of this web, smoking a cigar, fawning pathetically before his superiors while treating his subordinates like cattle. His opponents consider him a crude and uncultured parvenu who has transformed the NSDAP into his own corrupt plaything; his supporters preach loyalty so long as they can maintain their positions of power. While despised by many, the Parteiminister has entrenched his position by standing firm against the growing forces of revision and reaction.
As the Führer's health fails, will the Brown Eminence finally step out of the shadows?
Biography[edit | edit source]
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Born in June 17 1900 in Wegeleben to a Lutheran family, he was a son of a Post Office worker and his second wife. Martin and his brother Martin Bormann would be the 2 out of three children to survive to adulthood. Bormann would study in agricultural trade high school before joining the First World War as a gunner during its final months in 1918. He soon became an Estate manager of a large farm in Mecklenburg, shortly after he joined an anti-Semitic landowners association. During this time he would also notably join the Friekorps in 1922 as section leader and its treasurer. He was then sentenced for a year in prison for being the accomplice along with his friend for the murder of a school teacher who supposedly tipped off French occupation forces of sabotage attempts by the Friekorps.
Joining the Nazi Party[edit | edit source]
In 1927 Bormann would join and become a member of the Nazi party after taking a job with the Nazi edited weekly paper Der Nationalsozialist, later becoming business manager for the Gau (region). He would do many things including starting funds and later working on the staff for the Sturmabteilung (SA). In 1937 he would join the Schutzstaffel and next year was given SS number 555 by special order of Heinrich Himmler to reflect his Alter Kampfer (Old Fighter) Status.
World War II & Financial Crisis[edit | edit source]
During the Second World War, Germany would see many victories including successes in Operation Barbarossa and Operation Sea Lion. Bormann would rise to the rank of Deputy Fuhrer, effectively being second command to Hitler. Once the war ended and the plans of rebuilding berlin to Germania came into fruition, the encompassing Economic Crash would occur. Many would begin to doubt the Efficiency of National Socialism and many would argue of the Future of National Socialism. Many factions became to form from the Reformists under Speer, the SS under Himmler, the Militarists under Hermann Goring, and the Conservatives led by Bormann.
In-Game[edit | edit source]
When going down his path, Bormann is shown to be a conservative and heads the Orthodox National Socialist Conservative Faction. When he wins the German civil war against the other Successors, he will attempt to bring Germany back to Normalcy. While he does few "reforms" he notably meets with the US President, scales back the Reich's Anti-Smoking laws and laws against polygamy. Bormann shows to be a Hedonistic man from sexually extorting young actresses to smoking cigars regularly, which soon comes back to haunt him as in 1969 he will be diagnosed with cancer.
