Character Pages
These are guidelines to follow when constructing or editing a character page.
Introduction
Insert a {{Infobox Character}} at the very beginning of the page (even if the page has an article tag). See the template's page for help on filling out its paremeters.
An introductory sentence must state the name, followed by full name if applicable, and their role within TNO.
Description
A character page should have the following chapters:
- A introduction, together with a subsection with the characters in-game description. If a character has more than one description create more subsections for them.
- A biography, including OTL information up until the timelines branch branch out, that's when you start writing from the TNO timeline.
- In game information, detailing what the character does in the mod ads you play trough it.
- A trivia section (optional).
The chapters should not have two dots at the end of their name. Please don't add additional chapters.
Trivia Section
If information cannot organically be inserted into the page, only then can it be inserted into the trivia section. Avoid speculation and statements that cannot explicitly be proven. Refer to the trivia guidelines.

How to use each parameter
name = character's name
portrait = character's portrait file name. the template automatically embeds the image
portraitsize = size of the portrait. defaults to 210px vertical if left empty
portraitlabel = caption for the portrait
incumbenttitle = highest level incumbent title of the character
incumbentdate = date that the character began their incumbency
toprole = the title of the top dog that the character is serving under (i.e. the president)
toproleholder = the guy who actually is the top dog
precededby = the character's predecessor
succeededby = the character's successor (only use if there's only 1 successor)
title = title that the character has previously held
assumed = when they gained that title
left = when they lost it
toprole = title of the top dog they served under
toproleholder = name of the top dog they served under
precededby = their predecessor
succeededby = their successor
longname = the character's full name, not localized
birthdate = the character's date of birth
birthplace = the character's place of birth
deathdate = the character's date of death
deathplace = the character's place of death
age = the character's age (IF THEY ARE ALIVE AT GAME START)
deathage = the character's death age
nationality = the character's nationality
role = the character's role and potential roles in the mod
party = the character's party
otherparty = previous and potential party affiliations of the character
ideology = the character's ideology
ideologyaddendum = to be used when an ideology has multiple icons/types which all use the same name, such as British Fascism or Dynastic Liberalism. check Category:Ideology Icon Templates to see what this parameter should be
Tabber
the tabber is a substitute for the standard image parameters. it will only work if all the image parameters are empty and if tabberfile1 isnt. only use the tabber parameters if you know what youre doing. check the template source to better understand how it works
tabbertitle = title for the tabber tab
tabberfile = name of the file to display in the tabber. the template automatically embeds it
tabbercaption = caption for the displayed image
