"Brain Rot" is a notable phenomenon within the TNO community, characterized by a stagnation in content updates leading to a lack of fresh stimuli. While various incidents mark this phenomenon, The "Speer Hoodie" incident stands out as an example of its effects.
The TNO community, comprised of enthusiasts of strategic and story gaming, relies heavily on regular updates, expansions, and new releases to sustain interest and sanity. When these updates are lacking or infrequent, the community experiences a sense of stagnation, leading to a recycling of familiar content and the degeneration of creativity.

The meme of "Gaming" relates to the fact that a lot of Gamers, mainly COD players, are often toxic and racist.
In the TNO case, this means, well, supremacist and genocidal. So, the Gamer memes include characters like Taboritsky or Yazov on the Russian side, Himmler, Heydrich or Hüttig on the German side, or even Yockey and Wallace on the American side: All of them are extremists, racists or segregationists.
Big building in Neu Berlin
The origins of this meme turn back to around 4 years ago, while in the early phase of development of the Mod. In the ask_a_dev channel of the discord, a user named Baxter asked a question to ThePinkPanzer saying "can you create neu berlin with that giant building". The response to this question was, simply, a keyboard smash. There are multiple explanations why ThePinkPanzer responded with this. Those include :
- The fact that for Baxter, a big building was more important than the lore of the mod in general;
- The fact that the city is Germania, not Neu Berlin ;
- The fact that the "Big Building" that is the Volkshalle was visible on the first promotional art of the mod, and that Baxter was really dumb for not seeing it.
After this event, the ask_a_dev channel was momentarily deleted. Now, the "big building in neu berlin" is a popular joke in the community, used in a lot of different situations.

Speer Hoodie
This meme originated from a post on the TNO Subreddit on the 1st of October 2020 by user tankist-marie. It displays a white hoodie with the picture of Albert Speer and text saying "Speer Hoodie Speer Hoodie".
The post was quickly followed by a comment by the Moderator Spar-Kie saying : "Holy shit. I have a moral obligation to tell people to not do this kind of shit. Don't get fucking hoodies with an actual fucking Nazi's face on it, oh my god. People might actually think you're a fucking nazi."
Later, on the 2nd of March 2024, 3 surprising images were posted by a user on the TNO discord server at around 06:49 AM EST. These images depict a drawer sheet with the words "GUTE NACHT" and the face of Albert Speer on it. The user was almost immediately banned from the discord server. Around 1 hour after the incident, an another user posted the 3 images on the TNO subreddit, multiplying its impact. This post also was immediatly removed for the reason : "Excessive LARPing"

The Soul of TNO
"The Soul of TNO" is a term used to refer to certain aspects and features of the mod considered by some to be "integral to the identity of the mod", usually as an argument against the removal of said features. Unironic usage of this phrase and arguments similar to it is typically mocked by the community, usually by jokingly describing outrageous or strange features of the mod as the "soul of TNO."
While the debate around realism and the removal of certain features of the mod has been occurring since release, the first explicit usage of an analogy related to TNO's "soul" was posted in the TNO Discord on July 17th, 2021 by user BlazingRoman. This post was followed by mockery at the dramatic language used in the message, with users in the following months humorously referring to unimportant/absurd parts of the mod as "the heart and soul of TNO." The words "Heart" and "Soul" are also often diverted to the word "Hart" referencing the American Liberal President Philip Hart and to the word "Seoul", the current capital of South Korea, and in the TNO timeline, a city under japanese control. "Seoul of TNO" is a sticker on the official TNO community discord server.
