As part of the agreement with the French State, Madagascar would remain as a French colonial territory. However, due to the Armistice of 1940, the French State could not properly garrison its overseas territories. Additionally, due to the German paranoia of the French rearming under the guise of garrisoning its overseas territories, Germany would send a garrison to "assist" the French Administration in maintaining order and control on the island. |

With the backing of the Japanese Empire, the Malagasy people of the island would revolt, causing the French administration to collapse, forcing the island into an anarchic state. Should the uprising be succesful and the colonizers kicked out, the Malagasy Uprising will reform into the Malagasy Republic and join the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.
