The Minnesota Farmer–Labor Party is a left-wing American political party founded in 1918. During the Great Depression, the party came to dominate the politics of the state of Minnesota. A status they have somewhat kept into the 1960s leading many to consider them to be one of the most successful third parties in American history. This prestige and their stances on various issues made them a natural ally of Progressive Party with them operating at the start of TNO as the Progressive Party's Minnesotan branch.
