Republican People's Party or Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi in Turkish is the party of Turkey's founding father Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and has dominated the country's politics since 1922.

Factions[edit | edit source]

Orthodox[edit | edit source]

The Orthodox faction of the CHP believe that Ataturk's vision of the party is already being upheld and the country should stick with the previously established one-party rule.

Reformist[edit | edit source]

Lead by Minister of State Turhan Feyzioglu , the Reformist believes that the CHP should roll back its authoritarianism of the last couple of decades. They believe the CHP should the primary centre-right party of Turkey balancing Nationalism with a rule of law based of Kemalist principles.
