Amur, officially the All-Russian Government of Amur, is a Russian warlord state located in the Far East. It borders Yakutia to the north, Magadan and the Gulf of Okhotsk to the east, Manchukuo to the south and Chita to the west.

The statelet is one of the three "Heirs of Harbin", a group of three warlord states led by former White Army officers. In Amur's case they are led by Konstantin Rodzaevsky and his Russian Fascist Party (RFP), who are backed by Japan.

In-Game Description[edit | edit source]

As the Soviet Union rose to power thousands upon thousands of Russians fled to wherever they could. For many in the east that was the city of Harbin in Manchuria. Bitter over their defeat in the civil war and looking for any chance at redemption or revenge, these exiles turned to the new fascist movement that was just getting off its feet in Europe. Many of the Russians in Harbin embraced Fascism as the new rival to Communism, none more than Konstantin Rodzaevsky. The young man was a fiery orator and an open supporter of Hitler's ideology of National Socialism, and he quickly ascended the ranks to become the leader of the Russian Fascist party in Harbin.

When the Soviet Union collapsed the exiles, seeing an opportunity to retake their homeland, were quick to strike. With support from Japan, Rodzaevsky led an invasion of the Russian far east, declaring his intent to reunite the nation and create a new era of Russian national socialism. All seemed to be going well, but Rodzaevsky was betrayed by two competing cliques. The white army officers had always hesitated to embrace fascism, and when they saw the opportunity to break away they took it, pledging their allegiance to a false Tsar in Chita. In Magadan, Mikhail Matkovsky, long a challenger to Rodzaevsky's control of the RFP, declared Rodzaevsky was nothing more than a puppet of the genocidal nazis, and a traitor to the Russian nation. Now Rodzaevsky is left ruling a rump state, biding his time until he can retake what is rightfully his and teach the traitors a lesson they won't forget.

History[edit | edit source]

The Heir of Harbin[edit | edit source]

The Vozhd[edit | edit source]

When the perfidious Soviet Union collapsed under the stresses of German Invasion and the inherent weakness of the communist system, the Russian Fascist Party and her Japanese benefactors, long in exile in the Manchurian city of Harbin, were afforded an opportunity to take back Russia.

Konstantin Rodzaevsky, Vozhd of the All-Russian Government, took it upon himself to begin reclamation efforts in an attempt to seize Russia and save her from the depravities of Bolshevism.

Self-Suffocating Snakes[edit | edit source]

Plunging into the Russian Far East, the RFP and her allies in the old White movement made it as far as the city of Chita, before their offensive was stunted. As the advance slowed, cracks began to show between the Tsarists and the fascists, and soon the Whites under Ataman Semyonov seized the city of Chita and officially distanced themselves from the party.

If the Vozhd was surprised at this turn of events, he was enraged when former party member Mikhail Matkovsky split the party and set up a rival government in the remote port of Magadan, posing a threat to the Vozhd's legitimacy and rule.

For God, Nation and Labor[edit | edit source]

Showing Weakness[edit | edit source]

Since then, based in the small town of Zeya, the Vozhd has become dejected and increasingly paranoid.

His closest advisors, Georgy Shekherev and Alexaner Bolotov, the head of the party's paramilitary Blackshirts and the security minister respectively, have indulged his paranoia, bringing the Vozhd lists of internal party members who are dissenters and troublesome figures within the regime.

None Shall Stand[edit | edit source]

The Vozhd plans on creating a strong Russia based in national socialism, where the Vozhd is paramount and his system, derived from the Germans, is law. However, to do this, he will need to cleanse the party of the people responsible for its failures.

The Vozhd's immediate internal and external threats need to be dealt with before he can focus on ending the Bolshevik remnants to the West. None shall stand in Konstantin Rodzaevsky's path.

For God, Nation, and Labor!

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Amur starts with the following national spirits:

Name In-Game Description Effects
Heirs of Harbin In the aftermath of the Russian Civil War, the remainder of the White Army retreated into Harbin as exiles, nursing their wounds and plotting the overthrow of the Soviet Union. Before long, however, fascism coalesced within the city. Under the leadership of Rodzaevsky and Matkovsky, the Russian Fascist Party (RFP) soon became the premier party of the Russian émigrés. As the Union collapsed, the Whites and the RFP formed a united front against the Bolsheviks and for a time, they were successful - until infighting split them apart. Now the three splinters vie for power, each claiming to be the rightful heir of Harbin. Stability: -10.0%

Russian Fascist Stronghold After the Unholy Union forced the true sons of Russia out, some of them found their way to Harbin, where, under the leadership of Rodzaevsky, we adopted the ideals of Fascism in order to more efficiently fight Bolshevism. As it was in the face of Fascism that the Unholy Union was shattered, we seem to have made a right call; and it is beneath the banner of Fascism that the Homeland will be reborn, and any despoilers will be run out of it. While we may be confined for now in this desolate land in the Far East, this sorry state is only due to betrayal; internal by Matkovsky and external by the dastardly Japanese. But our perseverance outlasted the Red Intermezzo; so shall it outlast all other traitors, and the Homeland will be reforged in fire. Daily Political Power Gain: +0.10

The Paranoia of the Vozhd The days of Vozhd Rodzaevsky as the leader of Amur have had a toll on him, and so has the ultimate betrayal of Matkovsky and his allies. In a twist of irony, the leader of the Fascists has resorted to measures used by the Soviet leaders he wished to bring down, so as to secure his hold on power.Anyone who is suspected of being traitor, an agent, or simply not loyal to the ideals of the RFP, is in the crosshairs, and is sooner or later executed by the order of Rodzaevsky. The effect of this in Amur has become clear, as less and less capable administrators and commanders are left to govern. Those who do are merely pawns of their leader. Division Organization: -10.0%

The Flight East Though the West Russian War ended almost a decade ago, Western Russia has never known peace with the Germans. Instead, life has been punctuated by regular bombings from the Luftwaffe, an unending campaign of terror meant to permanently hobble a one-time adversary. Though many Russians have found ways to live amid this violence, others have tried to escape it by fleeing east. This steady stream of refugees has permanently altered the distribution of Russia's population, with many migrating to the far reaches of the country the remain untouched by the Nazi war machine.
