Gorky, officialy the Military Control Commission in Gorky, is a small Russian warlord state located in West Russia. It borders Vologda to the north, Tatarstan and Samara to the east and Reichskommissariat Moskowien to the south and west.
They are not a unifier and have no content as of the The Ruin update.
History[edit | edit source]
Gorky itself was established by Ivan Chernyakhovsky, a former general of the West Russian Revolutionary Front who commanded one of the largest tank armies the front wielded in the West Russian War. After the war turned in favour of the Germans, Chernyakhovsky was able to defeat them in a battle near Gorky to protect his retreating comrades, but was cut off from them in the process.
Despite the Front's defeat, Gorky has not given up the fight against the Germans and continues to raid into Reichskommissariat Moskowien in the regular. However, the state's overindustrialization is chewing througn its resources at a fast rate, and theur natural resources will inevitably give out...

The Free City of Nizhny Novgorod is a potential country that can be formed from the Gorky tag by Onega if they defeat the West Russian unifier and form the Northern Russian Republic.
After its creation the Free City will repurpose the Krasnoye Sormovo Factory, which it inherited from Gorky, to produce and sell civilian vehicles to the rest of the West Russian Defense Pact, a far more productive use of the factory than Chernyakhovsky's raids.

- In early versions of the mod, Gorky was portrayed as an armored bandit state led by Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Averin, who launched raids into Reichskommissariat Moskowien to enrich themselves.
- The flag of the Free City of Nizhny Novgorod is the same flag used by the real-life Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
