The West Siberian People's Republic, usually referred to as just Tyumen, is a Russian warlord state located in West Siberia. They border Sverdlovsk to the north, Tomsk and Omsk to the east, Kazakhstan to the south and Magnitogorsk and Zlatoust to the west.

The state itself is a communist remnant of the Soviet Union that subscribes to the beliefs of Joseph Stalin, who was the founder of the state and headed it until his death from a stroke. Originally upon its formation, it controlled most of West Siberia, but after Stalin's death, most of its northern territories seceded, leaving it with just the regions around the cities of Tyumen and Chelyabinsk.

Russia was a land of battling cliques long before the Soviet Union fell to the Germans. In the chaotic days after Lenin's death multiple successors vied for control over the young Union. For a brief moment it appeared as though the crown might pass to Joseph Stalin, but tragedy struck. Stalin met with a mysterious and untimely demise, and his supporters were scattered across the Union, relegated to positions of no importance as Bukharin secured control. One of those men sent to Siberia was Lazar Kaganovich, and he never forgot the teachings of his mentor. When the Union collapsed under the weight of the German invasion, Kaganovich was quick to act. Securing the support of Field Marshal Rokossovsky and Lieutenant-General Karbyshev, he took control of a massive stretch of territory from the Urals to Omsk. Kaganovich proclaimed the West Siberian People's Republic and prepared to retake the Union.

It was not meant to be. Both of his allies soon distanced themselves from Kaganovich, eventually breaking away entirely. Rokossovsky seized Sverdlovsk and the Republic's northern territories, while Karbyshev's Black League took the city of Omsk and its surroundings. Now Kaganovich is left ruling a fraction of his former territory from the city of Tyumen. Most men in his situation would have given up, but Kaganovich is made of stronger stuff. Soon his armies will march north and south, annihilating the traitors and reclaiming the Republic. Kaganovich is determined to reunite the Soviet Union and avenge himself and his old mentor, the original man of steel.

History

The Fall

When Nikolai Bukharin ascended to the seat of Chairman in the old Union, he set about curtailing the influence of radical politicians. It was during the turbulent 1940s that Lazar Kaganovich was reassigned to the Urals, an isolated post coveted by none.

When the Soviet Union was destroyed by the fascist invader, the true adherents of Communism fled to Western Siberia, where Comrade Kaganovich had organized the West Siberian People's Republic. However, years of backstabbing and political indecisiveness have taken their toll, culminating in the collapse of the Republic into multiple splinter states.

The Rejection

Led by Lazar Kaganovich and Nikita Kruschchev, the leaders of Tyumen do not adhere to orthodox communism - the failures of Bukharin's regime have taught them that the only effective forces in this world are those of iron and blood.

Marshal Ivan Konev commands a respectable infantry and armored core, supplemented by Tyumen's well-trained militias. However, the Republic's greatest strength may lie in its goal of total industrialization through the so-called "5-Year Plans", a radical and potentially hazardous alternative to the NEP.

The Earth

The steel city of Tyumen stands alone against the ultranationalists in Omsk and the treacherous 3rd Army in Sverdlovsk. However, in the darkest halls of the underground, a grand plot is brewing - one that may yet see the Union recover from four decades of humiliation. Far beneath the earth, an army bids its times - a million soliders, workers, opponents of the old regime.

The Battle

It is only a matter of time until the mortal battle for Russia begins - and while the petty warlords hide from terror bombings, Tyumen gears for war. Its people have an iron will - they are well aware of their predicament: they will either reanimate the Soviet Union, crush the rebels that infest the Motherland, undo Bukharin's fatal mistakes - or die trying.

Unorthodox Bolshevism	It is clear for all that blindly holding on to the idea of Lenin and the Bolsheviks will bring us no future in this changing world. As respectable as the Old Bolsheviks were, we will have to deviate from their ideas, for our own good.	Political Power Gain: -15%
The Ural Automotive Plant	The Ural Automotive Plant is one of the largest factory complexes in Central Siberia, turning out vehicles, civilian and military, by the tens of thousands. Control of the plant will allow the state to produce trucks and light armored vehicles, the lifeblood of modern warfare, in enormous quantity. Lenin's Mausoleum	The father of the Revolution, Vladimir Illich Lenin, was preserved by his successor upon his death so that all might remember who liberated us from the tyranny of bourgeois rule. During Barbarossa, it was evacuated from his resting place, and now rests in our respectful stewardship. • Originally, it was planned that Tyumen would have a socialist pathway under Lazar's brother Mikhail, but this pathway was scrapped for reasons unknown. It's not known as to whether this would have been a third pathway or a replacement of Kruschchev's pathway.
