The Imperial State of Iran is a nation located in the Middle East. It borders Turkey and Iraq in the west, Reichskommissariat Kaukasien and Turkmenistan in the north, and Afghanistan in the east.

Prewar[edit | edit source]
The Pahlavi dynasty came to power in 1921, overthrowing the Qajars. the new Shah Rehza began policies to modernise the country, renaming Persia to Iran in 1935.
Second World War and Post War[edit | edit source]
In 1944, Shah Reza died, and was suceeded by his son Mohammed Reza.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union, Iran moved troops into what remained of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, capturing border territories. In 1946, Seeing a prime opportunity to expand, Iran invaded Turkmenistan alongside Afghan forces. . However they underestimated Turkmenistan and got bogged down before a ceasefire was declared. Humiliating Iran. British shares in the Anglo-Persian Oil Company would be taken over by Germany, bringing them into the German sphere.
In 1953, Iranian Prime minister Mossadegh nationalised the oil fields, exiling the Shah. However, this was short-lived, as the Shah would be reinstated in a German-backed coup.
